Animal Care Assistant (ACA) in our newly opening ECC clinic. This is permanent Part Time (1824hours per week) twilight role (6:00 PM – 12:30 AM) (4 days Mon-Thurs and 3 days Fri-Sun) and will provide essential support during our busiest hours, taking over from the daytime team and working closely with the Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team. The role includes reception duties, answering calls, triaging by phone, and being the first point of contact for clients.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Animal Care Assistant, in small animal practice who is highly motivated, hard-working, and a team player. This role combines reception work with clinical support, assisting our vets and nurses in caring for patients in the wards, as well as before and after surgery. At Village Vets, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients and excellent service to our clients. We also support staff development and encourage further education opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Support the veterinary surgeon and veterinary nurse in their daily duties.
- Assist in caring for patients and inpatients to the standards upheld by Village Vets.
- Undertake general cleaning throughout the clinic, including equipment and animal quarters.
- Run routine lab work under the direction of the veterinary nurse.
- Manage front-of-house duties, answering calls and triaging clients over the phone.
- Be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
- Promote Pet Health Plans and Pet Insurance to clients.
- Carry out any ad hoc veterinary or administrative duties as required by the head nurse or area manager.
- Ensure all tasks, duties, and procedures are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Create and maintain an outstanding client experience.
- Be responsible for creating and maintaining an outstanding client experience throughout the whole team.
