Our Rathgar branch opened as a proud member of the Village Vets family in 2022 and has comprehensive facilities, including separate cat and dog wards, an in-house lab, surgical and dental facilities, and diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray and ultrasound.
We’re conveniently located in the centre of Rathgar and we’re often visited by passing clients dragged in by their dogs to say hello! Clients can make use of our free parking at the front of the clinic between 10am and 4pm, and there’s a bus stop outside the door.

Pet health plan
We're very proud of our innovative Pet Health Plan, which includes unlimited vet visits. We believe that the cost of a consultation should never be a barrier to getting expert advice, and the practice has over 1000 pets taking advantage of the fantastic benefits it offers. All of our team members are pet owners and we all choose to enrol our pets on to the Pet Health Plan, as we all believe it provides the best level of care for our loved ones.
Village Vets Rathgar
Our family have come on a long journey since 1980 when our dad, Karl Cosgrave, bought the veterinary practice in Dunshaughlin. Like all families, we’ve grown and changed since then. These days we’re proud to be working with the best vets and nurses in Ireland across our state of the art clinics in Meath and Dublin.

Supporting our local community
We take great pride in giving back to the Rathgar community, and contribute wherever we can, offering discounted services to charities such as CDPA, Cats Aid and Dogs Trust. We also regularly treat sick and injured wildlife for free – and are happy to help if you have a problem with wildlife in the area! Our team also help to rehome and foster dogs with the My Lovely Horse Rescue centre, and we’re members of the Rathgar Business Association to help to fund Christmas decorations and hanging baskets in the area.
