Location: Village Vets Glanmire and Cobh Reports to: Head Nurse and Lead Vet Salary: €33,000- 36,000 DOE We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse with 2 years plus experience to join our friendly and supportive team at Village Vets Douglas for a 9-month fixed term contract.   • Support daily clinical operations, including patient preparation, inpatient care, and assisting vets during procedures
  • Deliver high‑quality nursing care, including administering treatments, monitoring anaesthetics, and maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Provide excellent client care through consult support, advice, and front‑of‑house assistance when required
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment to the highest standards
  • Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, and ACAs to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive client experience
About You
  • Qualified and VCI registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • 2+ years’ experience as a qualified RVN in small animal practice
  • Highly motivated, hard-working, and a team player
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate about delivering gold-standard patient and client care

An Animal Care Assistant is required in our Dundrum Veterinary 24 hour hospital. Village Vets Mission: Making lives better through excellence in veterinary care while truly caring for the best interests of our patients, customers and colleagues. We operate to a very high standard of Veterinary Medicine and the practice is fully equipped with excellent surgical, diagnostic, and medical equipment: Our ideal candidate would be experienced working in small animal practice and be highly motivated, hard-working, and a team player. This is a role is working alongside and supporting our team of vets & nurses looking after the patients in the wards & also before & after surgery. Part-Time ECC Night Nurse
  • Shift pattern: 1 week on / 2 weeks off (7 night shifts, 19.30-07.30)
  • Hours: 12‑hour night shifts, Monday–Sunday during working week
  • Total annual earnings: €28,000 inclusive of holiday and bank holiday pay plus €500 joining bonus.
This role will operate supporting the ECC Night team. Duties:
  • Assist the veterinary surgeon and veterinary nurse in their day to day duties.
  • Assist the nurse & care for patients and inpatients in our care to the standard upheld by Village Vets.
  • Undertake general cleaning duties throughout the clinic including equipment, animal quarters to a level acceptable to the Village Vets standards.
  • Run routine lab work under the direction of the veterinary nurse.
  • Assist with front of house duties & understand procedures involved in maintaining an efficient friendly reception.
  • Promote the Pet Health Plans and Pet Insurance to all clients to facilitate the highest level of veterinary care.
  • Carry out any ad hoc Veterinary or administrative duties that may arise through the normal course of the day within the clinic or as advised by head nurse/area manager.
  • Complete all tasks, duties and procedures efficiently and accurately.
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining an outstanding client experience throughout the whole team.
