Job description: Experienced Veterinary Nurse Diagnostic

Location: Village Vets DSPCA

Reports to: Lead Vet 

Salary: €32,000 – €35,000 Per Annum DOE 

‘We are thrilled to announce a brand-new opportunity at our DSPCA clinic, designed to support the continued growth of our certificate-led referral service in imaging (ultrasonography).

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, driven individual to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our advanced imaging service.

Our DSPCA branch opened as a proud member of the Village Vets family in 2019, having previously operated as the veterinary clinic for our neighbouring DSPCA shelter – which we continue to support. We have a separate dog and cat ward, a prep room with an x-ray machine and two surgery rooms. We offer discounts to supporters of the DSPCA and also help to facilitate their boarding hotel.

As a valued RVN, you’ll play a key role in upholding the standards and values of Village Vets and the Veterinary Council of Ireland, ensuring unparalleled care for our patients, fostering excellent relationships with colleagues, and delivering outstanding customer service. You’ll also contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic, guided by our experienced head nurse and lead vet.

Knowledge & Skills

Specification for a Veterinary Nurse

Criteria Essential Desirable
Professional/Technical Qualification Current registration with VCI Further qualification specific to VN training
Experience & Job Knowledge Interest in working in progressive practice as part of team Previous experience of small animal veterinary practice

 

Skills & Competencies Excellent communication skills (written & oral).

Ability to work well in fast paced environment.

Excellent time management

Ability to make clinical decisions .

Ability to work autonomously.

Confident and competent decision making skills.

Ability to provide training and direction to other.
