Our Story

Village Vets, one of Ireland’s leading veterinary groups.

From Our Founder - Charles Cosgrave

Village Vets began with a simple but powerful goal, to provide the best possible care to pets and their families. I’m proud to say that this mission has remained at the heart of everything we do and is part of our DNA. Even as we’ve grown from a single clinic in Dunshaughlin into a group of trusted veterinary practices across Ireland.

My journey started out as a child helping my dad, Karl Cosgrave, in our family veterinary practice. After qualifying as a vet and working in Limerick and the UK as a vet, I came back home and eventually took over running the practice from him. While I loved being a vet in clinic, I soon discovered a deep interest in the progressive side of veterinary care. I saw an opportunity to modernise how we deliver care, putting a stronger focus on customer service, team culture, and clinical excellence. That’s how Village Vets as you know it now, was born.

Today, Village Vets is more than a group of veterinary clinics. We’re a passionate team who believe in going the extra mile; for pets, for their owners, and for each other. We pride ourselves on creating best in-class clinics where animals receive expert care with a personal touch, and where our colleagues are supported to grow and thrive in their careers.

Every clinic we open or welcome into the Village Vets family shares our values: compassion, community, and clinical integrity. We’re proud to offer advanced services like advanced surgery, oncology, dentistry, exotic pet care, cardiology, ophthalmology, 24/7 emergency support, and tailored health plans, while never losing the personal touch that defines us.

At Village Vets, we believe the future of veterinary care lies in creating a positive experience for both clients and colleagues. That’s why we invest in our people, our technology, and the communities we serve.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know us. We look forward to welcoming you and your pet to one of our clinics soon. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please let me know by emailing charlesc@villagevets.ie. I would be delighted to hear from you.

Warm regards,
Charles Cosgrave

  1. More Than a Clinic – A Veterinary Community

As we’ve grown, it’s the same spirit that started with my dad and me all those years ago that still guides how we look after pets, their families, and our community today. Thanks to continued investment, we've been able to support our people, attract top talent, drive innovation, and develop state-of-the-art facilities. Our veterinary practice is driven by values. By heart. By the idea that modern veterinary care can and should be better for the pets, for the families, and for the veterinary professionals who care for them. The truth is, we’re still a family, a growing one.

  2. Raising the Standard of Care in Ireland

Veterinary care has come a long way in the last decade. Your pets deserve the same standard of care you’d expect for any member of your family. That’s why we’ve invested in best-in-class equipment and services, from on-site labs, digital imaging, and dental suites to MRI, CT scanners, and two dedicated hospital grade clinics providing 24/7 emergency care.

Our team includes specialists in areas like advanced surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, oncology, dermatology, dentistry, endoscopy and exotic animals. We also offer a trusted referral network for other veterinary practices across Ireland, supporting their patients with advanced diagnostics and specialist-led treatment plans.

  3. Learning, Growing, Innovating

We partner with UCD and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to support the next generation of vets, nurses, and animal care assistants, and it doesn't stop there. Through constant upskilling, knowledge sharing, and clinical development, we stay ahead of veterinary advancements and bring that expertise into every consultation, every procedure, every decision.

  4. Empowering Our Vets, Strengthening Communities

We know that great clinics are built by passionate people. Through continued investment in our people, we’re proud to nurture talent from within, enabling veterinary professionals to step into leadership and become owners in the clinics they help shape. Giving them a personal stake in its success, its standards, and its connection to the community.

We’re proud to support a growing number of vet-led partnerships across our network who own their own clinics. In Raheny, Sorcha Delargy leads with compassion and drive. In Lusk, Carla Lluch brings her expertise and warmth to every patient she meets. And in Stillorgan, Aislinn Cullen continues to build a trusted, community-rooted clinic with clinical excellence at its core.

By giving veterinary professionals ownership and autonomy, we’re fostering long-term leadership, stronger clinic cultures, and better care for pets - because when you feel it’s yours, you give it your all.

  5. Partnering with Local Vets

At Village Vets, we believe in partnering with local veterinary leaders who know their communities best. Through thoughtful partnerships, we’ve welcomed exceptional vets like Conor Goold and Declan Quigley into our network; each bringing invaluable local knowledge, trusted relationships, and a deep sense of care for the pets and families they serve.

We’re proud to work alongside them, combining their community-rooted approach with the support of our wider network - from investment in advanced equipment and clinical education to providing long-term stability and professional development opportunities. Together, we’re ensuring that local teams can continue to deliver the highest standards of veterinary care, with compassion, continuity, and confidence.

  6. A Promise to Pets and Their Families

Whether you walk through the doors of your local Village Vets clinic or need specialist care, you’re backed by an entire team. A network of expertise. A community of passionate professionals who treat your pet as if they were their own, for the lifetime of your pet.

This is more than a story of growth. It’s a story of belief. Belief in better veterinary care, and in the bond between humans and animals.

Welcome to our Family. Welcome to Village Vets.
