Job description: Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Village Vets Animal Welfare Clinic

Reports to: Lead Vet

Working Hours: 9.30am- 8pm with flexibility, working 2 in 5 Saturdays.

Salary Range: 40-60k

We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (2+ years) to join our progressive, supportive team at our Animal Welfare Clinic. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and care for patients to Village Vets’ high standards
• Manage cases thoroughly within the practice before referral when appropriate
• Communicate effectively with clients to support informed decisions on treatment
• Prescribe and dispense medications safely, maintaining accurate medical records
• Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to a strong team culture
• Promote Pet Health Plans and Insurance to enable the best patient care
• Ensure smooth clinic operations, including accurate billing and documentation
• Maintain VCI membership, CPD requirements, and adherence to professional standards

Requirements

• MVB, DVM, or equivalent with current VCI registration
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in small animal practice
• Strong surgical and medical skills appropriate to experience level
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Interest in exotics (distinct advantage)
