Village Vets Stillorgan

Aislinn's introduction to veterinary medicine began during transition year work experience at Bairbre O'Malley's Veterinary Practice — now Village Vets Bray. What started as a short placement became six years of working there while she completed her studies, confirming her love for the profession.

Her early years as a qualified vet were harder than she'd hoped. A difficult professional period coincided with a deeply personal one: her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Taking time away to care for her was the right decision, but it left Aislinn uncertain about whether she wanted to return to veterinary practice at all.

When Aislinn later came to interview at Village Vets Stillorgan, she expected it to be little more than practice — she wasn't convinced she still wanted to be a vet. What she found instead was genuine encouragement, patience, and mentorship that gradually rebuilt her confidence and love for the work. Within six months, she had grown into a senior vet, mentoring new graduates and helping to shape the clinic's standards of care.

Today, Aislinn is passionate about both patient care and veterinary education. Village Vets Stillorgan regularly hosts UCD final-year veterinary students during clinical rotations, and Aislinn created VetVision — Village Vets' new graduate support programme, designed to guide newly qualified vets as they begin their careers.

Becoming a partner at Village Vets Stillorgan was a natural next step — this is the clinic, and the community, that brought her back. She remains committed to growing the practice, supporting her team, and providing the highest standard of care for pets and their families in Stillorgan and beyond.
