DIGITAL RADIOLOGY
What is digital radiography?
Here at Village Vets, digital x-ray provides us with a non-invasive method of diagnosing your dog or cat’s internal organs and systems.
It is environmentally friendly as no chemicals are used during the process and it decreases the radiation exposure that your pet goes through as images can be read through the computer.
Digital radiology is normally used to check bone and joint conditions.It is also used to screen for cancer and abnormalities in the organs
Advntages of digital radiology:
- Efficiency in capturing X-rays translates to time saved.Less time spent developing film X-Rays and taking patients through their treatment plans means more time actually treating patients.
- Instead of X-ray film, digital radiography uses a digital image capture device. This gives advantages of immediate image preview and availability;
- elimination of costly film processing steps.
- Less radiation is used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.
