As part of our Pet Health Plan, routine consultations are included at no extra cost, giving you peace of mind and your pet access to the care they need without the worry of added financial stress.   

If your pet’s skin condition requires more advanced attention, we offer referral dermatology services at select clinics across our network. For more complex dermatology cases our vets can arrange internal referrals to our expert secondary care dermatology service within Village Vets—ensuring your pet receives seamless, high-quality care every step of the way. Our Ashbourne branch joined the Village Vets family in 2008 and we moved to our shiny new site in 2024, which is well equipped with modern facilities including an in-house laboratory, diagnostic equipment such as x-rays, dental x-rays and ultrasonography, four consult rooms and two surgical theatres.

What to expect for Dermatology

During a routine consultation, our veterinarian will examine your pet’s overall health, discuss any symptoms or concerns, and provide tailored advice or treatment plans. 

 The appointment takes 15 to 20 minutes, and we ask you to bring any specific questions or concerns you would like to discuss with the team. If you have special requirements for your pet, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the clinic beforehand to ensure we make the visit as stress-free as possible. Whether it’s preventive care or addressing specific issues, we ensure your pet’s comfort and your peace of mind.

Identifying the root cause early—whether it’s dog allergies, itchy skin, or skin redness—is crucial for providing effective treatment and lasting relief.

  • Yes, please book your appointment in advance via our website so we can allocate the right amount of time for you and your pet. It only takes a few minutes to book, and you can reschedule if plans change.

  • Routine consultation appointments start from € 64.50. Please see the pricelist for a full overview of prices. Members of our Pet Health Plan only pay € 25 per month with vet consultations included and discounts on dental checks and many other services. 

  • Your pet’s dermatological care begins with an initial routine consultation, where we assess their specific condition and needs. From there, we develop a personalised treatment plan, followed by ongoing follow-up care to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments based on how your pet responds. Dermatology services are provided on a case-by-case basis to ensure the most effective and compassionate care at every stage. 

  • Untreated skin conditions can cause ongoing discomfort, worsening symptoms, and a reduced quality of life for your pet. Without a proper diagnosis, the underlying cause may go unresolved, which can result in recurring or chronic issues that become more difficult to manage over time.
